Who We Are
Dr. Randolph Stern & Francesca Stern, FISTD
Back in 2013, when Dance 1 first opened!
With over 30 years of teaching experience in England and America, Ms. Francesca saw a need for focused, classical training rooted in strong technique and unwavering support. Together with her husband, Dr. Randolph Stern, she founded Dance 1, building an elite studio known for its discipline, artistry, and community spirit. Dance 1 dancers have earned 4 Studio of Excellence Awards and multiple 1st place overall awards across all genres.
In 2014, she expanded her vision by founding Redondo Ballet, a 501(c)(3), non profit organization, where she serves as Co-Artistic Director and Co-Choreographer. Redondo Ballet now produces two original ballets each year, offering South Bay audiences unforgettable, one-of-a-kind performances.
Ms. Francesca has also achieved one of the highest honors in dance education: in April 2025, after years of study and an international trip to London, she earned her Fellowship with the Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing (ISTD). Her journey continues, as she remains committed to her own growth and to providing dancers with the most up-to-date, comprehensive ballet training available.
