Ann Johnston Award Recipient, Selena Pattishall
The Ann Johnston Honours award recipient for 2019 was Selena Pattishall, who was selected by the teachers and staff at Dance 1. In 2018, Francesca Stern, began the awards program as a commemoration to her mother, Ann Johnston. In the award’s inaugural year, dancer Annie Cushman was awarded and at the 2019 Winter Recital on December 15, she awarded the trophy to Selena.
Dancers of all ages submitted video of themselves explaining what dance means to them. Many young dancers, including members of Redondo Ballet Company submitted their application describing all the meaningful ways dance changes their lives.
