Walter Barrera

    Walter Barrera is a Dancer/ Choreographer and Cultural Ambassador born in Los Angeles, California. He was raised in Morelos, México where he began his training as a Salsa and Latin dancer under La Academia de la danza Mexicana directed by Antonio Silva. In 2005, Walter traveled back to Los Angeles to finish his studies and pursue his dream of becoming a professional dancer. In 2013, He started his connection as a dancer with Rocky Mountain Ballet Theater under the Direction of Charlene Carey which lead to international opportunities. In 2014, He traveled to Salzburg, Austria with Rocky Mountain Ballet Theater to an Intensive Dance Training under the Direction of Peter Breur, Artistic Director of the Salzburg Ballet. Where they trained in technical classes such as Ballet, Jazz, Hip Hop, Contemporary, Gaga, and Nacho. In 2015, Walter began his professional Career as a Commercial Dancer and an Actor with Representation of Talent agencies such as S Dance Agency and 1826 Commercial Agency which lead him to work in different commercials and fitness videos. In 2016, He joined the staff of RMBT as a Choreographer and Director of outreach and since then Walter has been part of Rocky Mountain Ballet International Tour Company dancing and choreographing in different places across the world. Such as: Austria, Germany, Italy, China, Thailand, Portugal, Panama, Mexico and Pakistan. Walter has worked with many prestigious dance academies, competitions and worldwide festivals including La Compagnia della Danza under the Direction of Ballet Master Guy de Bock and Barbara Castagliuolo, Concervatorio International de Ballet e Danza Annarella, directed by Annarella Sanchez, Viennas International Ballet Challenge directed by Gregor Hatala, Cecchetti International Summer Dance Competition Florence, Italy, as Artistic Director’s assistant and Dance Couch under the direction of Charlene Carey and Islamabad Art Festival 2019 conducted by Jamal Shah in Pakistan. Today, Walter is a Cultural Ambassador with Ballet Beyond Borders representing Mexico and the USA.
