A graduate of Wright State University, Queala has performed with X-Pressions Dance Company, Dayton Contemporary Dance Company (DCDC I & II), Don Arden’s Jubilee, JazzAntiqua Dance & Music Ensemble, Lula Washington Dance Theater and Cirque Du Soleil’s “Zumanity” with travels to Poland, Brazil, China, Russia and Israel.
Queala brings with her a wealth of teaching experience. She has taught for DCDC I & II, Ohio Dance Festival, The Rock Center for Dance, The California Dance Academy, International Association of Blacks in Dance (IABD) and has served as a faculty member at the AMDA College & Conservatory of the Performing Arts, to name but a few.
Queala has served in leadership roles; as co-director of Jeraldyne’s School of the Dance Youth Ensemble and as choreographer for Circuit MTG 360. During her time at Lula Washington Dance Theatre, she was a company member and instructor, rehearsal coach and assistant to Artistic Director Lula Washington.
The proud recipient of the 2004 MCACD Individual Artist Fellowship, the 2005 OAC Choreography Fellowship, the 2007 Josie Award and the 2010 NAC Individual Artist Fellowship, Queala is now thrilled to be joining the Dance1 teaching team.
