“I believe that music is a source of light in the world. Teaching children to understand the language of music will bring light and beauty to their lives, and will illuminate the future for all of us.”
After a few dance classes as a child, Karenn decided she would be better off playing for the ballet than actually dancing! A collaborative pianist with a doctorate degree from USC, Karenn has played for the Stapleton School of Performing Arts, the Heppel & Ettlich Theatre, Opera Pacific, and the studios of Felicia Weathers, Eleanor and Alice Schoenfeld, Midori, Ron Leonard, Jennifer Culp, and Martin Chalifour. Fluent in five languages, she teaches lyric diction at the Herb Alpert School of Music at UCLA. As a pianist, Dr. Presti has performed extensively as a soloist and collaborator, winning competitions such as the US Open Music Competition, the Leni FéBland Foundation Competition, the MTAC VOCE Competition, and the Armenian Allied Arts Competition. Karenn maintains a private piano studio, where she teaches music arrangement and composition in addition to piano. Her own arrangements can be heard in her 2017 recording, My First Armenian Songbook, or at Dance 1!
